Meddy L is a purveyor of fine, high-end skincare products for the African climate. The company was founded and is privately owned by Dr. Bruce Lelala whose vision is to provide a superior product that stems from his vast of experience within the medical field. Through his years of research Dr Lelala has innovated a scientific formula that is suited to South African skins within our climate. Once discovering his formula, he was driven to start Meddy L and to see his products with his unique formula reach the niche market that so badly needs them. Our head office will be based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa as this is a central business hub and suitable for establishing the company within the existing market.
Meddy L Skin Care range, was inspired by Dr Lelala’s loving and caring mother Mrs Mangoato Meddy Lelala: he wanted a way of paying tribute to her while she is still alive. She is a classic example of Imbokodo. Despite all of life’s challenges, she managed to educate her entire family on a single income after his father was retrenched from the gold mines in Johannesburg. She supported her husband as he returned to school to train as a teacher, later becoming a high school principal. She made sure that all her children attend university. Dr Bruce Lelala qualified as a medical doctor, his younger sister obtained a degree in accounting, his younger brother is a commercial pilot, and the youngest brother is completing a Bcom degree in marketing. Over the many years of Dr Lelala’s studying and training he acquired a broad range of skills and experience which led him to formulate his own skin care range, which today is known as Meddy L.
Extensive research was undertaken during the development of Meddy L products. A key feature of these products is stem cell combined media (not containing actual stem cells) that is rich in growth factors (GFs) and cytokines (CKs) which are responsible for enhancing key bio-structural elements such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (HLA) that maintain skin health. Other critical factors included in Meddy L formulations are IGF, VEGF, PDGF etc., which mediate diverse skin regenerative effects such as antioxidant protection and anti-wrinkling effects.
